Attached File Mark your calendars for the Iowa Firearms Coalition's annual Second Amendment Day at the Capitol Building in Des Moines, Iowa on February 18th, 2025, main program from 1pm-3pm, sponsored by CrossRoads Shooting Sports, Volquartsen Firearms & Brownells. This is the largest 2A freedom rally organized in the state of Iowa. Show up to support current efforts to push pro 2A legislation in Iowa & come early to lobby your individual state Representatives & Senators. We will have the whole rotunda area reserved. We will hear from IFC Leadership, special guest speakers, Representatives, etc. Several 2A friendly organizations/businesses will be on hand as well. Last year hundreds of people turned out to lobby for increased 2A protections & legislation, and the energy was incredible. Let's make this year's event even bigger. There will be shuttle service from a designated parking lot to the front door, for those individuals in need. Look for the IFC logo on the side of the shuttle van. Attached File IFC-PAC is also hosting a fundraising barbeque dinner following the 2A Day rally. The dinner will be at the Za-Ga-Zig Shrine in Altoona & starts at 6pm (doors open at 5:50pm). The meal will include barbeque catered from Smokey D's (ribs, pulled pork, smoked chicken, numerous sides, etc.) for a $75 PAC donation. Retired Major Jeff Struecker will be there for a more personal meet & greet following 2A Day & to speak about his experiences in Somalia. Listen to live music performed by local artist Tyler Folkerts. We've upped the value and decreased the cost from previous events. These tickets will sell out. Come out and have a good time while helping to support our big push toward increased 2A protections for future Iowans. IFC's special guest speaker, Jeff Struecker, is a local hero originally from Ft. Dodge, Iowa. Jeff is a member of the US Army Ranger Hall of Fame. He served most of his military career with the Army Rangers and won the Best Ranger Competition as a Sergeant. In almost 23 years in the Army, Jeff served 17 combat deployments in 5 different US wars including being involved with Operation Gothic Serpent, i.e. "Blackhawk Down" in Somalia. He has many awards and commendations from his military service including the Silver Star for bravery in combat. Jeff holds a PhD, as well as many other earned and honorary degrees. He has taught leadership at every level from undergraduate to PhD. He is an award-winning author with numerous books in print. Jeff is often featured on radio and television news programs. IFC is blessed to have Jeff Struecker headlining this year's 2A Day at the Capitol & following supper! We would love to see you there! |

We are only 2 months away from 2A Day 2025. If you have been on the fence about purchasing tickets to the supper, I recommend you do so soon. IFC has some surprises in the works that you will not want to miss. IFC will be at the Capitol starting at noon on Feb. 18th to assist folks with talking to (or leaving a message for) their Representatives. The main event in the rotunda area kicks off at 1pm. Come out to 2A Day and support the many legislative priorities being worked on this season (not all inclusive - we can't show all our cards yet): Safer Families Act (provisions of HF654 – passed by the House on April 12, 2023) Intended to eliminate most of the few remaining “No Guns Zones” in Iowa law: Repeals ban on firearms and ammunition in: Vehicles on the grounds of correctional facilities Vehicles in publicly accessible parking lots operated by state or local government Vehicles transporting foster children School vehicles transporting pupils (authorized armed staff only) Allows for permit holders to have a concealed handgun in their vehicle when dropping off or picking up at a school Prohibits state universities and community colleges from banning lawfully possessed weapons in vehicles on their grounds Repeals the ban on firearms in state-licensed gambling facilities Repeals the statutes on “manner of conveyance” of long guns in vehicles Provides for firearm safety Instruction in schools Provides necessary clean-up of some language in Iowa Code 724 in the wake of the 2021 adoption of permitless carry of weapons Full 2A Rights for Young Adults IFC will again seek to remove statutory restrictions on handguns affecting young adults aged 18-20. 2A/4A Protection in Private Parking Lots IFC will again seek to pass legislation prohibiting employers from disciplining or firing employees who lawfully possess weapons or ammunition in their vehicles on employer provided parking areas. Repeal Firearms Devices Section 724.29 This is causing problems with sales of binary triggers and similar devices. Gadsden Flag License Plate to Fund 2A Education and Training IFC will seek to create an Iowa Gadsden Flag license plate, with funds devoted to 2A education and training, with first priority to IFC or similar groups. Require Iowa Government Agencies to Auction Seized Firearms IFC will seek to require public disposition of seized firearms, rather than have them all go to the state’s crime lab or be destroyed. Remove Conservation Officers’ Authority for Warrantless Searches Investigations on private property must honor Fourth Amendment rights by requiring probable cause, permission, or a warrant. IFC needs your support and your ATTENDANCE to help push these measures through. |

Got it on my calendar and just registered for the meal. Need to renew my IFC membership that day at the Capital while I'm there as well. I noticed it was in the afternoon this year instead of the morning...any particular reason for the change or just trying to get more attendance? Suits me fine as now that I'm retired I'm not much of a morning person.

The event was moved back to the afternoon based on feedback from previous attendees. Some folks travel from all four corners of the state, during winter no less. I look forward to seeing you there! |

Due to the unpredictability of Iowa weather, IFC will be running a shuttle van from parking lot 16 throughout the day. Noon to 4pm. The van will pick up and drop off in parking lot and the front (west) entrance of the Capitol building. We’ll be using a passenger van with IFC logos on the doors. Look for the flags in parking lot. Wave us down and we’ll give you a lift! |

Well, it wouldn't be 2A Day without left-wing radical protesters & crazy Iowa weather... I'm worn out from a long day of freedom, so I will keep this concise. THANK YOU to those who came out to the Capitol and/or the fundraising supper! Your support keeps Iowa headed in the right direction & protects freedom for future generations. Hearing Jeff Struecker describe his military experiences in person was something those in attendance will not soon forget. Hearing from NRA CEA Doug Hamilin and NRA 2nd VP Mark Vaughn (google search him if you have a moment) describe the new direction of the NRA and acknowledge the mistakes of the past, while describing the steps put in place to ensure that never happens again. That was something I needed to hear in person. Listening to Tyler Folkerts light up the crowd on guitar, what a local talent! Attached is a picture of the signed rifle winner. And on and on...
