Rolling out.

ETA...  NB 635 is FUBAR.  Back up starts in front of Town East.   Suspect it will get worse.

That was a good outing.  Always dig lunch at that Soulman's and the show was productive (at least for me).  Scored a factory threaded barrel for my Sig P220 for only $140.   Good to see you folks.  Hope Sinister is feeling better.

First time to Bigtown in years.  Full show with both vendors and customers.  Got some good laughs, like a S&W 28-2 HP for $2500.  A S&W 25-2 for $3100 and a "Rare" S&W 29-2 4" in nickel for $2400.

A Barrett M107 with the suppressor was nice except for the $12.5k price tag.  No Beanie Babies but a couple of women's makeup tables.

Not yet, seems to be a head cold.  Sorry we didn't get to hang out.  Swapped out sights w/ the Oklahoman - excellent customer service - and gave my bumpstock to the knife and gun gals.  She'll get something for it, it would've killed me to BBQ it.

Show is as packed as during Obama years.  Some parking on the far northwest side, not a lot.

It's been going around.  My wife picked it up and work and tried to give it to me.  I managed to resist.  I'm sure he'll be fine soon.

We can always try to catch up at Fort Worth.  Though I just saw the dates and I may have a conflict - I won't know for certain for another week.  I do appreciate the offer a place to stay.

I blame FedEx for the parking conditions.  We used to have all the old mall parking to choose from before they set up shop.  Oh well.  It was opening up pretty good when I left, so people showing up at 3pm should have had a good assortment of parking spots.

Cheers,
B

It was great to meet some new Arfcommers.

I picked up another carry handle, from the Oklahomans.

Prayers for our little gun show buddy, The Sinister.

2-3 February

Lewisville (Premier)

Lewisville has the distinction of being an order of magnitude larger than the Bonham show.  Check out the gun shop next door, friendly folks.  If anyone has suggestions for lunch up that way, post up.  Bass Pro to the south if you wanted to dine there.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Gonna try somethin different - going to post the upcoming shows down here:
9-10 February
Corsicana
Greenville
Mesquite Rodeo (Premier)
Soulman's BBQ again?  Post up when you want to meet, or if there's somewhere else you want to hit.  Used to be a Texas Roadhouse just up the road.
16-17 February
Denton (1st Denton show in a while.  I'll have to hit this one.)
Fort Worth (Premier)
Nacogdoches
Lunch Saturday in Ft Worth - Railhead BBQ?  Do we want to do breakfast in Denton, hit that show, then maybe lunch at 1:00 in Ft Worth?  Discuss.
23-24 February
Abilene
Lewisville (Premier) Wow, twice in a month.
Lewisville - Spring Creek BBQ and Cotton Patch are two exits south (3040 on west side), Denny's and I-HOP just before south bound 3040 exit (use corporate exit stay on feeder) ,
El Phenix is one exit south (Corporate Dr west side of 35)
Whose going?
Pick a place, date, & time, & I'll post it up in the OP.  I'm probably going to play hooky - the FIL is talking about going shooting Sunday morning, we may get to see how fast 55 grns leave a 27" bbl.
Less than half the size.  Rodeo's maybe twice the size or more of Lewisville.  The largest of the small shows?
I want a 9mm pcc, but I may just go Hi-Point. Cost, reliability, available mags, lifetime warranty..
Ugly, but, it's a tool.
Unless you just totally make me a deal on the Marlin. But.. I think you really want to keep it. That's fine.
Lol, no, I just think the Ruger is better all around, you'll just pay slightly more for it.  The HiPoints are an improved modern STEN, have one in .45 ACP that FW_wife gave me.
City hassles, competition for vendors w/ Premier.  Not that another organizer can't do, just this fella's washed his hands of it.
2-3 March
Belton - don't usually cover this far south, but given it's in spitting distance from the Waco & Gatesville shows, figured I'd include it.  Vendors are going to have a time of it w/ customers split across 3 shows an hour apart from each other.
Gainesville
Gatesville
Mesquite Big Town (Premier)
Longview
1-3 March
Waco (starts on Friday)
9-10 March
Canton
Fort Worth
16-17 March
Dallas Market Hall (DACA)
Jacksboro
Waxahachie (Premier)
23-24 March
Abilene
Jacksonville
Mesquite Big Town (Premier) Wow, twice in a month.
Paris
30-31 March
Brownwood
Durant, OK
Might try to hit Mesquite again, considering how good it was to me in Jan.  Kind of depends on the weather.  We've got some pruning we've been trying to get done for awhile, so if the weather is nice I'll probably be sawing and chipping.
Hadn't been to Big Town in a year or two, so I walked it today for a couple of hours mid-day. Big crowd. Parking lot full (worst parking lot of any gun show for broken beer bottles and huge potholes). Saw lots of tire kicking, but not much buying and selling going on according to vendors and I didn't see much buying among the public either. Lots of parts gun AR's from "Custom Shop X, Y and Z" but very little first class stuff. Only one Colt AR in the show, or at least only one that I could find. Two tables had a couple of high end AR's in the $2,000 range.  Many tables of candles, jerky, and anything else you could name. Apparently a baseball bat wrapped with barbed wire is legal to possess??? Maybe so. One vendor has them. I see no reason to go back to BT unless I desperately need a part.
