Curious if we have any DD (Destructive Device) owners on this forum. I'm curious about your experience with the State and the ATFs approval of Forms, especially how well versed the ATF is with our laws. I interested in general on what is and isn't allowed.

What are you wondering about, specifically? I’m not aware of anything related to large bore DDs in state law. There may be something about explosive DDs under some unrelated law (explosives in general). But you probably aren’t asking about grenades and flashbangs.
The only thing I can think of would be how some 12-gauge Federal DDs, like Street Sweepers, may fit the state SBS definition if they have a short barrel. Similarly, a DD with a short rifled barrel (M-79 for example) could meet the state definition of a SBR. Not sure if that would make a difference in being able to own one or not. |

I'm curious is it all in General, which makes it tough since so many categories of weapons fall into DD.
Being a "poor" boy, I'm thinking I have 2 options of getting a registered DD that's not a 12 ga. -203 40mm -molotov cocktail The cheapest being Form 1ing a molotov cocktail. Is there Michigan State law regulating these to where someone can't own one with a Form 1? |
