I’m rebuilding a 1911A1 and I was wondering if there is a business in Washington that can blacken a new stainless steel slide? Not looking to Ceracoat it due to wear issues on edges/high points, but something similar to Sig’s Nitron finish or better.

If not, I will have to send it out of state… I’d prefer to spend locally, but if not possible, it is what it is.

Thanks for looking!!

Don't know if any local place.
I've tried my hand at blackening stainless steel and it didn't turn on good. So ever you talk to, ask for some example images of their work on SS.

Well, stainless steel is, um, stainless, so it's not a simple procedure.
