I'm considering retiring to the Dothan area. The Mrs wants to move somewhere within an hour of the beach. I've driven through Dothan many times on my way to Nashville. It seems to have everything that human would need for daily life. Any thoughts on the local hospital? The Mrs is an operating room nurse & wants to go back to work. I will need a VA clinic. Anyway...I appreciate in advance any of your thoughts. John |

| I was born and raised there but havent been living there since early 2000’s. That being said I would visit my folks every couple of months and/or work at Flowers Hospital as a travel tech. I can not speak for the closest VA hospital but I do know there is one in birmingham about 185 miles north. I always told my parents I would love to retire there cause there is nearly everything you need and if not you can travel within a couple hours to get what you want. Two main hospitals with the SAMC being a med school as well. I would invest near the north or west parts of Dothan. |
| I am west of Dothan what would you like to know ? The Dothan Hospitals are decent . Anyone from by me gets stabilized locally and sent to Dothan. There is a VA. at Ft. Rucker. which is near Enterprise/ Daleville. I would suggest living towards that way and driving into Dothan proper. |
