 Operation Red Wings - 6/28/2025 Considered one of the greatest losses in the SOF community and darkest day in SEAL history. June 28th, 2025 marks the 20th anniversary of Operation Red Wings. Among those killed was U.S. Navy SEAL Shane Patton, a native of Boulder City, Nevada and the final SEAL missing a memorial at home. Those days are over, as the memorial statue is complete and being unveiled today, Saturday 6/28/2025, at 4pm. Shane was killed during a quick reaction force infiltration in support of Operation Red Wings when the CH-47 Chinook he was riding in with sixteen other US Navy SEALS and Army aviators was shot down. The son of a SEAL, Shane was doing what the Pattons do best…going to the sound of the guns. With great honor, we present to the public the very first images of the statue in progress. These images are from the sculptor himself, Grzegorz Gwiazda, of Poland. He’s been a very important piece in making this work of art a reality. As always, the Shane Patton Foundation couldn’t have done this without all the help, support, t-shirt purchases, and donations throughout the years from all of YOU.
