Hi all. I will most likely be visiting the LA area this fall for a business trip. I’ll most likely fly into Las Vegas or Phoenix a few days in advance and spend some time on the desert. I would then drive to LA, spend the week, then fly home out of LAX. I made a similar trip like this in around 2018 with no issues. I usually fly a couple of times a year with guns so I’m familiar with the airline / TSA routine regarding flying with firearms. But I generally don’t keep up on gun laws in CA. I’m generally aware of most CA-specific rules. Transport unloaded, locked case. No scary stuff like threaded barrels or full-size magazines. Is there anything else I’m generally missing? Any new stuff on the horizon that could get me jammed up this fall? (I read rumors of Glock ban, for example). I did read this thread and it doesn’t look like there’s anything new I wasn’t aware of. |

Which is what I used. I took a partial box and weighed it and wrote it in sharpie o the box in case they asked. They didnt. Delta I think make you have a lock for every hasp. So ten holes ten locks. Put it in with the firearm I would also put an orange chamber flag in. They liked that on both flights. American visually verifies it unloaded and no need to take it out of the case with a flag. |
