The online CPL renewal tool has an alias I have never used.  It is a common alternate spelling of my first name.  Think Erik vs Eric.  My current and all former CPLs and driver licenses were spelled correctly.

I can't select NO for the alias/former name question.  Yes is selected and a name is given with the alternate spelling.  I'm not comfortable proceeding past certification given I have never ever used this particular alternate spelling.

Where to start?  County clerk?  MSP?

Update, problem was in the previous renewal information from either five or ten years ago entered incorrectly by the county clerk's office.
They were able to identify what the issue was and were happy to correct it.  I completed the renewal paperwork in person and was on my way in ten minutes.

I think it's dumb that I use Jr for everything yet the government sometimes doesn't use Jr, so they use my dad's name as an alias for me.

I’d start with the county clerk.
