We will be heading down to Charlottesville this week to visit Monticello and a few wineries. We are going to stop at Luray Caverns on the way down as well. Any other suggestions, restaurants, breweries, sights that we should stop by? Thanks |

Do the 151 trail. Lots of breweries and wineries along Rt 151. Blue Mountain Brewery, Devils Backbone. Hilltop winery is a nice off the beaten path winery, in Nellysford, you can take your own food items. Pretty conservative folks there that own and operate it. And of course check out Trump Winery, it is absolutely beautiful there. |

have friends in the area, wife and I go many times to hang, Blue Mtn brewery has a great lunch, great beer lots and lots and lots of wine would recommend, pollack septurnary valley road (excellent rose) afton Mtn for the whites, Jefferson is good too, greenwood grocery has good wine and beer selection, good eats too there in an antique/whatever store in Greenwood (across from the post office that is a neat shop, we go often, carters mtn can be touristy chiles is better, ( a mile or so behind the greenwood post office) re Charlottesville proper, |

any food alergies? Feast has a good menu for Celiacs, (a few blocks west of 5th st, on main, IIRC, Maya, if still open, is fantastic Duners comes highly recommended, (it is in Ivy) Vision BBQ (a friend used to be part owner) is good Q, and good fried chicken several good eats in the downtown mall, So Street brewery, Star Hill, are good, years ago I would recommend Durty Nellie's but a change of ownership and not as good as it once was, |
