I bought a former LEO Sig P226 over a decade ago from a seller of such items on GB. The pistol came with 2 15-rd magazines, one of which was electro-penciled "Clearwater Sheriff's Dept". The seller said all of his Sigs were in the same lot when he received them, but wouldn't disclose his source. Is anyone here familiar with the Clearwater County Sheriff's Office and their issued weapons in the past? Just gathering a little history on my pistol. Thanks for looking. |

If you want to know anything about your pistol, I’d say call the Clearwater Sheriffs Office. They probably won’t be able to give you much info beyond how long the guns were issued for and when they replaced them. Generally LE agencies do trade ins with distributors and those guns get scattered to the four winds. At my last shop we got police trade ins fairly regularly. Only one out of those guns had a police officers business card with a note written in the back asking whomever found the card to contact him because he wanted to buy the gun. We asked our boss if we could reach out to the officer and he gave us the green light. That cop was beside himself at the luck of all. That was one of the fastest turn arounds I’d ever seen in all the years I worked a gun counter. |
