Looks like I will be going to the Michigan 100 and burnout rivals event at the Berlin raceway, is anyone else going? I've never been to MI before, so I figured I'd ask a few questions. I will be staying in Grand Rapids and will be driving to the Berlin raceway in Marne for the race and show. Does anyone know what the security/metal detector situation is at the raceway? I've read their rules, but I dont know how close they're checking. It does not appear that they check beyond looking into bags. I have read a few threads in the Michigan hometown forum about everyone's favorite restaurants, are ther any places that are a must have that you can only get in the area and nowhere else, or something that is the best in Michigan and everywhere else pales in comparison. I made a similar thread when I went to CT, and posters recommended several regional dishes that were great. We won't have a ton of extra time, but I see that there are a couple pinball halls nearby, are there any other fun things to see or do that are not too far away from the area. Are there any areas to avoid or any other safety or security gotchas to any of the areas that I have mentioned? Or any roads to avoid with excessive tolls or anything of the like? Thanks for any suggestions you may have. |

We were 12th into the facility, and had a great time. I was cheering for Tom's Refurb, but knew he didn't have any previous experience. He told me he would be happy just to finish, and he did, so good for him. I wish you would have posted before the event, I would have snuck you into the VIP seats. In case anyone else happens upon this thread, the track does not use metal detectors, or really search anything either. @jm0502 |
