Coming down in a few weeks for a week of vacation.  Staying by the Pampano Joes in Miramar beach.  With all the shark issues that seem to be going on I was wondering if any of you are local & had suggestions of things to do?

We’re planning on putt putt for a day to break the week up but I’m looking for another ideas.  I suggested snorkeling; but the wife isn’t interested with the current wildlife issues.

It’ll be me, my 2 boys (6&8), and the wife.  I’ll be bringing my nods so if there is fun night stuff that’s cool too.

Thanks @whiskerz I think that’s actually out where my cousin just bought property. I’ll put it in the list.

Hurlburt Field just redesigned and opened their memorial air park if you want to show the kids a bunch of gunships.
Eglin also has an Armament Museum both of those are free.
They are building a new bridge in Fort Walton so traffic on 98 might be crazy

@Bunnysriflestock that’s cool.  I’d go ‘for the kids’

@Bunnysriflestock

Got here today.  No gators or sharks seen.  If any of you see a dude in duals at night on the beach this week come say hi to me.

Go karts are popular and I'd rent a boat for the day and check out Crab Island.

Haven't seen the first shark OR gator. boo

Where are the REAL surplus stores at? I mean, not just some Propper and other china fakes, I want the place where troops from Eglin wanting beer money make bad choices!

(also, I can only find three scuba stores. Guess bargain bin pickings are gonna be slim LOL)

The only surplus store I know of is on Beal Parkway in FWB and it's OK at best.  It is not worth the drive from Destin.  The good ones of 20 years ago are gone.  I don't know if the AF has tighter inventory controls or the cheap shit from Amazon priced them out of business.

aw man,
thanks. saved me a trip.

I'm asking if eglin has some kind of DRMS / individual sales the public can attend, haven't heard back.

Considering what they do there, I am super surprised there isn't a bunch of old school stores.
