Drove north of town about 5 miles into the wheat fields last night @11:00 and was underwhelmed. Barely visible with the naked eye and not much better with the PVS14. All the pics I have seen are 100% better than what I saw, zero cloud cover, stars and moon were lit up

Didn't get a whole lot here. We watched until almost midnight.

I went out at 10 and 11:55. It honestly didn't kick off to my naked eye until 12am ish. I was also looking towards the north/northwest/Glacier (30 miles away). I turned around to go inside my house and noticed a couple of bands overhead and more to my south. I knew it wasn't the Milky Way, so I got my phone out and that was it! Within 5-10 minutes it was insane. It lasted until after 1 am when my wife and I finally went inside. I was in such awe I couldn't stop watching. My night mode is only a 3 second exposure.
When I first noticed it:

Within a few minutes (after midnight):

Got these at 10:45 last night. All the info we saw said the highest activity would be at 3am. Woke up around 2:55 and there wasn't even a hint of color or movement.

Nice.

I didn’t see a thing on last night but I was pretty wiped out. So, I didn’t spend as much time looking as I probably should have.
