I've been reading articles about how NM is going to get hit by all the cuts to medicaid, food stamps, and the rest. I was wondering if anyone has heard anything about this? It sounds pretty rough. |
| I haven’t heard much about peoples benefits being cut but there does already seem to be a big impact on funds for non-profits that provide, a one time assistance for people, several are trying to restructure to stay afloat. I’m expecting to see an increase with evictions, more people needing access to food pantry or food banks. I think things will get worse for people before they get better. Hopefully crime doesn’t increase but only time will tell. It doesn’t help this state is so liberal in Albuquerque and Santa Fe, they don’t seem to grasp the concept that they are the reason this State is going to crap with crime and drugs. |

The legislative proposals for 2026, per the press this week, include the same “training for gun shop employees to prevent straw purchases” that are also proposed in Virginia and have passed into law in other states run by communists. Everytown, the anti-civil rights group, is pushing it and probably wrote the language (FOIA requests in Washington State showed a long string of emails between anti-gun lobbyists and legislators/staff). We don’t need DC lobbyists writing our laws. Oh, plus another semi auto bans because they’re “dangerous”. |
Pretty much focused on off-grid property, acquisition of needed things for an uncertain future, and lightening the load of things.
