I've never hunted on a WMA before. Only leases. Lost my lease a few years ago, really miss being in the woods.

So looking at the map, those 3 WMAs have deer season and are around my area:

OLIVER BRIDGE WMA
RICHMOND HILL WMA
CANOOCHEE SANDHILLS WMA


My question is:   How does it work when hunting at a WMA?   I have hunting/fishing license.  

Do I simply go to the WMA and wander around, hunt?    
Is there a place where I must register before I go?
Do I park the vehicle at the side of the road around the WMA and walk thru the woods?
If a deer is harvested, are there any special things I need to do other than reporting the harvest on my hunting app?

Standard hunting/big game license does not cover WMAs. You will need the WMA stamp as well. It’s an extra $12-15 or you have a Sportsman’s license.

I have a Sportsman's license.   Regardless, this says a specific WMA thing is no longer needed since 2017.

Thanks for the update. Wasn’t aware they changed this regulation. I started buying a Sportsman’s to avoid all the extras. Good luck if you get out on one of the WMAs.
