Anyone have any luck yet this season? I haven't had a chance to get in the woods yet, but vacation coming up at the end of the month, hoping to put some meat in the freezer.

I hope to very soon. I don't have a bow anymore so I need a new one. I haven't figured out a place to go this year. I hope the WMAs are less crowded due to zoomers lack of desire to kill game.

I'm hitting the woods hard the last week of October and 1st week of November, Paulding Forest and Sheffield. Hoping for some cooler weather.

we had a random antlerless rifle weekend a few weeks ago. I had so many does in front of me that I couldnt aim at one without 3 seeing me and spooking off the entire herd.

I'm not a bow guy and 80* is too hot to be skinning animals so i'll prob wait until it gets crisper.

Thanksgiving week is always the week I drop a nice buck.

I am concerned that this winter is going to be bad. I've never seen so many deer and acorns.

Hey guys, I'm new to deer hunting and new to GA too. I have my license and I've been doing some bow hunting on the base in Albany. I want to get out and do some rifle hunting now, but not sure where to go to make it happen. Any advice for me? I have a new baby at home so hoping to keep it close to Albany lol.

I don't have any specific advice other than try and find a hunting club nearby or WMA. We've got a few guys in that area on here so maybe one of them can give you some Ideas.

I’ve never hunted near Albany, so I don’t know anything about that area. There are hunting club facebook groups for areas of the state. WMA’s would be another option.

Cool, I'll check out some clubs, I have a WMA close to me but I thought you had to get some kind of a lottery to hunt there- maybe I misunderstood the rules. Thanks guys.

ETA - looks like the quota hunts are only for certain WMAs- Mayhaw is about an hour from me and from what I understand, no quota hunts there. Seems like I can just sign in and go... I'm going to the Mike Commander range on Thursday, maybe I'll ask someone there to verify.

Have you checked the GA DNR website? They've got an app as well. That's what I use for license purchases/season info. May want to see what you can get out of that because there are some maps with WMA locations on there.

A guy at work invited me to his private land, so on the 3rd trip out I bagged a smallish buck and 2 pigs. It was a good day! Looking forward to getting out again now.
