There was a bit of a stink raised over that, after she originally announced she was going to do it. Democrats started pointing fingers and claimed republicans were only complaining because a democrat was doing it.
I'm guessing that she realizes she doesn't have much of a chance of winning the senate seat, but is doing it for name recognition and the campaign donations, while not letting go of the house seat that she already has. |

In CT Lieberman's 2000 Senate campaign was concurrent with that year's presidential election.
