My wife will be in Indianapolis this week for a work conference. She will be staying close to the conference center, but the group tends to go out in the evening for dinner and usually sightseeing. She has already scouted around a bit and nothing jumped out at her as being something she was interested in checking out. Any intel on interesting things, or better yet areas to avoid? I was not real excited when she told me where she was going this year, but she has a pretty good sense of her surroundings and will avoid any areas she has no reason to venture into. |

cross posted from GD Indy has what all cities have , a few bad areas and some homeless areas and or really bad areas. The downtown area will be heavy in bars and restaurants of course , with many very good places to go. Punch bowl has some extra stuff , like bowling , pool , karaoke , and a few other things if that is her likes. For "extra stuff" Indy doesn't have a lot to offer. There is the zoo , which is ok and the art museum which again is ok. The city market is kind of fun to walk around in if it's open when she is there. There are escape rooms and stuff like that also and even a carriage ride around if its not too bad weather wise. There are some events at the circle on occasion , so maybe check the city website. The downtown area is pretty decent , but as always be aware of what's going on as there are a number of homeless panhandlers out and about. |
