Any issues with carrying in LV? Will be traveling staying 1 night then traveling to UT (Zion NP) then 2 nights on strip. Worth the hassle? Will be staying at one of the larger hotels for the 2 nights, will have wife and kids with me. Won’t be gambling. They have firearm detection tech at doors? Have LEOSA and SC CCW permit. |

Hotels all claim they have extra super secret security, blah blah blah. To my knowledge, a few casinos tried it and it was a massive failure. YMMV, but I haven't heard of any casinos actually scanning for anything...they just love to keep up the mystery of what their powers could be. The only place you *might* have an issue is obviously a big event. I'm not sure if the strip clubs have metal detectors or not tbh. Other than that, everyone carries everywhere all the time.  Worst they will do is say, "Im sorry sir, you can't enter the casino with a firearm." |
Twenty years ago a got into a few places when they were running a wand..ankle holster. Wasn't trying to be, but felt like a real renegade  Last year there was a band at a place on Flamingo. They had a wand and I was CCW appendix. I walked up fully confident knowing I had little chance and was of course busted  They were very nice as I was also.Went home, came back and the guy working the door thanked me for carrying. |
| The only casinos that I have heard have some scanning technology is the Wynn and Encore. Other than that, every Las Vegas Metro/Henderson Police/Nevada State Trooper I have ever known has told me to PLEASE carry a gun everywhere I go in Vegas. Just don't carry drunk. The one place I would tell you to carry for sure is the Fremont. That place gets wild at night. |
