It might be too late in the year for this year, but I’m looking to get into a hunt club within a few hours drive of Beaufort.  Possibly open to Georgia side too, but their non resident license is like $350…

Just looking to harvest a couple of deer a year, don’t mind taking a buck but I’m not looking to spend 10 grand a year for a chance at a trophy

Got any suggestions, let me know please, it’s appreciated

In ga do you need a license for private land? If not the guy who owns river rock offroad park in millville(?) ga has lots of property and stands all over. Its worth asking. Rattlecanar on here runs hunts in northern sc. a lot of members here have gotten deer. You can get with him for more details.

I could possibly trade. I have 200 acres in Bishopville we could meet to hunt, for some flats fishing in Beaufort. (I have a 17’ skiff).

I think so since the deer are property of the king, not the landowner.

I’m not sure how I can help you, I don’t own the ocean!

You can come down anytime and I’ll take ya fishing, have a 18’ boat, trolling motor, etc. Haven’t been out in a month or so, been hot and pretty busy but I know it’s going to cool down pretty quick here

Need any help up there?  Don’t mind putting in work in exchange for hunting

Yep, definitely need a license, also the n the limit of how far I would want to go for hunting, although I might try off-roading there

Thanks!

If you know good places to Flats fish, fly fish, reds, jacks, etc. It's one of my favorite hobbies and why I have a 17' flats boat setup for it. I live in the Greenville (not Bishopville) and getting to the coast for fishing isn't a day trip. My Bishopville land has a Hunting cabin on it to make a weekend out of it bc of the drive. I only deer hunt to shoot a few for the meat or if some monster walks out.

Do a google search on the legend of the Lizardman. I can't possibly do it justice by my description.

It is some real folklore based on a drunk and/or high high school kid that wrecked his car and came up with a "good" excuse.

Also note that the very same guy died in an assumed drug related shooting about 30 years later.

I get it, grew up with a house on Edisto Island. The Lizard Man legend was folklore at the Sunset Grill Restaurant (sold and changed names now). The tale was on the menu and a few items were named after the Lizard Man; gator bites, lizard man omelet, etc.

Until the market goes up in flames, I’m stuck leasing unfortunately

By the time I can make the leap in 12-18 months to buy land I feel like anything worth having will be affordable

I’ve shot some decent ones, I want my 10yo to knock down a big buck.

Good luck this season everyone

I used to work with a guy that saw the Lizardman. It caused a big shitstorm at work and he never quite lived it down.
