| Hi, just moved to Knoxville area and was looking for recommendations for good gun shops/ranges. I looked int he ranges thread and saw the Oak Ridge Sportsman's Assoc does some matches but looked like it was pistol caliber only? And a couple up north/NE if town. Any other good ones in the area, especially W/Sw side? |

ORSA has all types of matches. 3 gun, long range, CMP, etc. Not just pistol caliber. Also skeet, trap, and sporting clays. It is by far the best range within an hour drive of Knoxville. If you are on the west side you can get there fairly quick by taking pellissippi parkway. If you decide to join ORSA, the application gets approved faster if you have a current member sponsor. PM me if you need help with that. |

As for good gun shops, that’s a bit harder to find. I can think of several in the Knox Oak Ridge area but their prices are high IMHO. Two decent ones (depends on what you are looking for/like) are Smoky Mountain Guns and Ammo off of John Sevier and 11E and Crossroads Firearms on Broadway between Fountain City and Halls near Black Oak ridge. Bill’s Outpost in Maryville is okay. |
