So, what’s the local take on the 2 lawsuits going on in Newton? The 2 police officers possibly not getting QI on a DWI arrest and then the mayor and PD chief getting served with a civil rights lawsuit for arresting/having a person arrested twice at a council meeting. ( I read he was acquitted in one trial and they dropped the 2nd when the city lost the 1st and that judge said they violated his 1st amendment right). The 8th circuit opinion came out Friday on the QI appeal and the officers lost a second time. |
