I’ve always loved music and the talent to play an instrument..However, I am a disabled vet with severely
Impaired hearing from blast damage and find learning really tough. For some odd reason the Mandolin is calling me? Any advice Y”all have is very much appreciated!

I don't have any experience with it but I remember seeing the VA has programs involving music lessons as therapy.

They advertise a lot of programs that may, or may not, be worthwhile but it's prob worth looking into.

Wasn’t Beethoven deaf? I guess he lost his hearing near the end of his life though.

I don’t think musical talent is really tied in with hearing, believe it or not, though it would help I think. I think it’s just something you either have or don’t.

Either way I think playing something just go to the VA or the rec center and just play.

I would go for the guitar over the mandolin. The mandolin is not an easy instrument to play.
