The eggs have hatched. They picked a safer spot this year. I will post pics later. Unfortunately, only 9 of the original 13 chicks are still cruising around. Nature is cruel.  Quails are cool. |

That's cool! I have quail that commute through my yard... in the morning, they are headed east. In the evening, they come back through and are headed west and hop into my neighbor's yard. This year we had a mallard nest in the yard. That was pretty awesome to watch happen. Just don't like the poop in the pool. I'll post pics soon, we had 7 chicks (4 eggs didn't hatch). |

That banded sssnek likes to chomp rattlers. Quail are the coolest birbs. We get herds of them booking thru the yard. The groups band together for protection. We have counted as many as three families, 30 or so quail all together, doing their morning and evening feeds. The vocalizations are great. They burble away at each other, a few perched high up, the rest pecking away. |

Mine hatched a few weeks ago. Only 1 didn't hatch. The nest was under my Christmas Tree pine in the back yard. Probably a much safer environment than out in the wild. Attached File |
