It's been awhile since I ordered anything from an out-of-state vendor. Just ran into the State's requirements for shipping parts into California. Are all vendors now requiring acknowledment of CA policies regarding "Manufacturing" of firearms for misc. small or broken parts and providing ID's (e.g., driver's License, or similar)? I guess I've been out of the loop for a bit. -ppknut |

I believe so. I think they do it for even the most random gun parts now because the law is so vague and they need to cover their own ass. I haven't used all my normal vendors yet since the law went into effect, but I did just order some stuff from Sportsmans Warehouse. In the online checkout I had to check two boxes to acknowledge this and acknowledge that. I picked the stuff up this morning in store, showed my ID, and "Thank you drive through."  When the law went through, I did get an email from Midway about uploading my ID and requiring acknowledgements so I think they might be down to ship here, but I haven't used them yet. |

It appears that virtually anything, remotely related to firearms is included in this BS. Who knew that ordering a single grip screw made me a firearms manufacturerer. Unbelievable! Yet, believable here in CA. |

| Yup, it's a real thing. Just got duped by Impact Machining for an optic plate on eBay. They sprung a hidden $25 charge on me for ID verification, which they didn't have listed on the item listing at all and demanded after I paid for the part. Then they canceled the order as "out of stock" when I refused to pay a hidden fee. Schmucks. |

I immediately thought of Speedloaders and speed strips for revolvers. Imagine, buying those silly items now requires a background check. WOW! |
