I would like to introduce the new Nebraska Firearms Owners Association and our website: http://www.NebraskaFirearms.org/. Our membership is open to all types of firearms owners as long as you are a resident of the state of Nebraska. Whether you are a trap shooter, long range rifle shooter, concealed handgun permit holder, NFA firearms enthusiast or any other group of firearms owner you are welcome to join our organization. The best thing about our organization is that membership won't cost you anything! We are local firearms owners who have a personal interest in representing firearms owners rights in Nebraska. While there are much larger firearms owner groups and lobbyists, we have a personal stake right here in fighting for our rights. We don't have big money to fly in lobbyists from the coasts, we don't have the money to wine and dine Legislators, we are just everyday normal Nebraska residents like you who want our voices to be heard by the various law makers. Best of all, we will not send you any mailings begging for money like the large national firearms owner groups. We will operate on a low budget and make due with what money is donated to us voluntarily. As a member of NFOA you have the opportunity to vote on the position our organization will take on firearms related laws that can impact us all. On our website we have a forum with lots of valuable information, and gives you the opportunity to ask questions on a wide variety of firearms topics. We strive to connect the firearms owners of our great state with lots of information on firearms, and keeping you up to date with proposed laws that may affect your rights. The biggest advantage to becoming an NFOA member is that every single new member we add increases our strength as a force to be listened to and reckoned with in the fight to preserve our 2nd Amendment rights here in Nebraska and nationaly. Update: As of September 13th, 2009 (less than 10 months after forming) the NFOA has surpassed the 2000 member mark!! Update #2: As of December 2010 we have passed the 4500 member mark.

Quick update, I believe we have close to 250 members already, growing a little every day. Please, if you haven't joined yet, please head over to http://www.nefirearm.com/ and join. There are some developments concerning CCW and gun registration in Omaha, among other things, that we are working on with a state Senator at the moment. The more members we have, the more the Unicameral will pay attention to us and our concerns. I will have a table set up at the Ft. Calhoun gun show sat. and sun. the 10th and 11th. I should have some sign-up cards there as well for people to join. Stop by and say hello!! |

NFOA will be set up at Hastings. I encourage everyone to join in this effort to organize Nebraska Gun Owners to help prevent any future gun control efforts by the left. Membership is free, and a large group throws much more weight when talking to our representatives. Please stop by their table at the Hastings gun Show this weekend.
You may even get to meet the famous RickNE and get his autograph! He may be signing pictures, cost is cheap, and all proceeds will be donated to NFOA. |

Yeah, I'm liking all the bills that have been introduced. Could be an extremely productive session for our cause. We need to fight just as hard, or harder, than we did for LB430.

Nebraska Firearms Owners Association Member Meeting
Saturday September 11th, 2010 Host: Grand Island Rifle Club 4692 W. Old Potash Hwy Grand Island, Nebraska Agenda 10am- Setup. If you want to help out with preparation for the meeting , I can sure use some help Opening - US Flag raising. We have a Cub Scout pack conducting the flag raising for us. 11am- Social hour commences after the flag is raised. Noon – Catered meal by Whitefoot Market. Choice of 2 meats, with two sides and drinks . $10 per person - Preregistration is required. Caterer needs a head count before Sept 1st Sign up on the forum http://www.nebraskafirepower.com/forum/index.php or by sending a check to: NFOA Meeting Preregistration PO box 419 Syracuse NE 68446 1pm- Member meeting. Discussion of the upcoming election for NFOA board of directors. Information on how to vote. Nominations for NFOA Board from the floor. Discussion of strategies for 2011 Legislative session. 2pm- US Flag retirement ceremony in honor of the lives lost on September 11th 2001. Conducted by Cub Scout pack 375 from Elkhorn, NE. Please bring your retired US flags to the event for proper disposal. If you are like me, I have been flying the colors 24/7 - 365 since 9/11, and I have a large number of flags that require a dignified retirement. I included this to honor the fallen of the terrorist attacks on our country in 2001. After the flag retirement is completed, any remaining flags will be properly retired by NFOA members of the American Legion. 3pm- Close . We will have ranges available for shooting rifle, pistol and shotgun. Events TBA. NRA certified range officers will be present. Bring your guns and ammo. Due to firearms being present, no alcohol will be allowed at this event. Come enjoy the company, honor the sacrifices of 9/11 and Take a stand with the NFOA.
