I'm going to be traveling to Cleveland, MS for the next few years! I'm looking for: 1. Good restaurants 2. Local attractions 3. Gun shops 4. Places to shoot 5. Good river views 6. Places for outdoor activities like hiking or sightseeing. 7. Where to avoid. Thanks! |

I am a native Mississippian but I spent only 45 minutes in Cleveland, MS. It is a small liberal arts college town. The Fighting Okra. It seemed to have a different, more friendly, cleaner, safer vibe than the typical Mississippi delta town and we have lived and worked in the mean delta towns at different times. I would just do a search and f/b for reviews and ask the people where you are working or visiting. There are probably some hidden gems because it is a college town. |

Crawdad’s in Merigold about 5 miles up the road is solid but bring your wallet. The Delta Blues Museum in Clarksdale is probably worth the drive. The delta region of the state is pretty rural and compared to the Jackson metro area, the coast, and the Northeast part of the state doesn’t have much in the way of money and industry outside of farming. If you go to Oxford and Lake Sardis there is a ton of stuff to do including a very nice shooting range run by the state and partially sponsored by Winchester Ammunition.
