Thanks for starting this thread. Here's the choices. I don't know anything about them, who has the best chance of beating Warner? Kim Farington Farington is a Certified Public Accountant who has worked at the US Defense Department, Department of Agriculture, Office of Personnel Management and at the White House according to her campaign website. She also served as chief financial officer of the First Responder Network Authority and was the founder and CEO of KTech, a financial management and cybersecurity firm. Fairington has raised nearly $126,000, according to the Virginia Public Access Project. Bert Mizusawa Mizusawa is a retired major general in the US Army. According to his campaign website, he also worked as the deputy under secretary of the Army and commanded a combined joint interagency task force in Afghanistan. The West Point graduate earned degrees from Harvard Law School and the Harvard Kennedy School. Mizusawa has raised $192,000 in campaign contributions, according to VPAP. David Williams Williams is also touting his military experience in his Senate run. He is a lieutenant colonel in the US Marine Corps Reserves. After deploying twice with the Marines in Operation Iraqi Freedom, Williams joined the CIA as a case officer and station chief. The Morehouse College graduate lives in Reston with his wife and three children. According to VPAP, Williams has raised $50,000 for his campaign. |

I blanked out on this primary cycle. For me, Williams is out. I stray from anything CIA.. Mizusawa is a possible, but I saw was a military advisor to the CIA..not quite as bad. Farington is a possible but I'll go ahead and say it, we need more men in politics.. The world is in a bad spot right now. We need logic and not feelings right now.. I think Bert has the best chance to beat Warner, but it's a big lift. For a mid-term election, it always comes down to who gets off their lazy asses and votes, so a decent candidate that can get people to go to the polls can win. The Dems have just been better at getting their folks fired up to vote than us. I'm in 10th district, not too excited about the candidates for congress, leaning toward Dave Beckwith, again as the best shot to win in November. Julie Perry looks good but is soft on data centers, which is a big issue here. |

I have the choice of selecting one of 5 leftist dems, each challanger more crazy than the incumbent. (Don Beyer). Was thinking of going to register a protest vote later this afternoon. No republicans are on the ballot. A local republican party guy I know says it's fallout from the failed redistricting, but that's just delusional copium, IMO. ETA, note the very short list of republicans running this cycle. |
