Yesterday I was in Inverness and again I witnessed a large rocket being escorted down 41 South to 44 and I'm assuming from there over to the cape or Kennedy.  I'm left wondering why would rockets need to be up here?  It looked the size of a Falcon 9 first stage booster.  I've seen them come and go and it makes no sense.  Where would the be going to and from so far away from the space center?

Maybe headed to or from the Space-X facility in Texas?

I figured they would move them by ship or barge instead of dealing with the hassle of getting oversize load permits to move them by truck.

That might have been the one I saw Wednesday afternoon heading east on I-10 in Mississippi.

It was wrapped up in black plastic.

Or just figure out how to launch it there and land it here.

A short video, heading east past the Mexican restaurant and Publix in Crystal River. Seems odd that the axles are connected directly to the load, instead of a cradle the load rests in.

The guess is something more industrial, like a ball mill. Or a purification column like for water or in a refinery. If a rocket, the nose payload would be a separate shipped part.

Well, those things are engineered even tougher than I thought.
