The shooting happened on Tuesday evening on U.S. Highway 378 near Lake Murray According to witnesses interviewed at the scene, Cason “fired a handgun into the air as he drove, then pointed it toward the car beside him and fired more shots,” said Sheriff Jay Koon in the release. At the time of the shooting, deputies said Cason was driving an SUV. Deputies found multiple shell casings from the road. In addition to shots, “beer bottles and cans” were thrown from Cason’s SUV toward the car involved in the road rage incident before Cason is accused of firing his gun, Koon said in the news release. Cason was arrested at a home near Lake Murray and transported to the Lexington County Detention Center. |
