Shooters Bench in Nampa is a well stocked  reloading store and had a very nice air rifle range.

Super nice folks.

Apparently there was an incident last week while refilling an air tank and the owner was badly hurt and building badly damaged.

Anyone know the latest on the owner?

He's doing fine and is in good spirits. He did lose his right foot and part of his leg below the knee. It's a miracle he's alive and that no one else was seriously injured.

Holy cow! Filling a tank and have a catastrophic failure? Any idea if it was a gun mounted one, or if it was a bulk tank? Even the small tanks can hold some serious energy if they let go before the burst disk.

That sort of thing was always my concern filling HPA tanks at the paintball field because all it would take is someone putting oil in a fill nipple trying to help out a worn O-ring to turn a 3k or 4.5k psi tank into shrapnel while you are holding it right next to your body during a fill.

It was a bulk tank.

Yes. They are now in Nampa where the indoor pistol range used to be (attached to Nampa Bow Chiefs). It is now Idaho Airgun  and focuses on high-end airguns, etc. The range is now for airgun use only. He does still carry some firearm supplies, ammo, handloading, but those are slowly being phased out.

Thank goodness it wasn't worse.

I have scuba tanks in the house,  for diving and refilling airguns.  Pressurized air is scary.
