I am a resident of TN because of what Democrats tried to do to gun ownership in 2020. @arowneragain was a key player in a transition plan that took less than 6 months to execute after having lived there for 27 years (21 of it in the same house). Back then, when they proposed a bill nearly identical to the one that just passed, I was certain it would pass, so I moved. It fell short by 2 democrat votes over what they felt was a technicality. The sad/frustrating part is, there was a period of probably a decade or so prior where we were slowly winning back ground against tyranny there....we got rid of one-gun-a-month, waiting periods and a few other nasty laws. Then conservatives got complacent and in a period of about one election cycle we lost it all. I know this audience is the choir, but just a reminder to talk to the folks you know who may be gun owners but not "gun guys or gals", who believe that TN is untouchable. The big cities have already fallen, they just don't have the numbers to swing the state yet. In VA, too many people were convinced "it can't happen here", and now those same people are having to contemplate what to do with their ARs and 10+ mags if they want to be law-abiding. Some folks, like I was, have positions of trust/clearances, and getting caught would be life altering. Not a good place to be in. With mid-terms coming up...start dropping it into conversations that freedom is never more than one election cycle away from extinction. Peace! |
| Well put. I live less than 10 minutes from VA and KY. I have to go into VA at least once or twice a week for work. I pray I never get pulled over while in VA. I refuse to give VA a penny. I be sure to fill up my tank before leaving TN. I wish we'd close the VA stores. Our TN stores are what's keeping the company going anyway. VA stores can barely pay for themselves. |
I've told this story before..... On our escape, my wife held the steering wheel as I hung out the driver's side window and flipped the hardest double birds back at the VA state line as we crossed into TN Westward on I-81..... One of the happiest moments of my life....

About 9 years ago, I worked on a project in VA for a couple of months and had an apartment in South Boston. I got to know a lot of the local folks and had a few we hired to work on the project. Very nice conservative folks and firm believers in the 2nd Amendment. It’s a shame to see how those northern most counties have changed the entire state. The lesson to be learned here in TN is how just a few counties and their carpet bagger politics can change the entire state. This cancer is thriving in Davidson county and is now spreading out into the other surrounding counties, Rutherford, Wilson, Williamson, etc. There’s a lesson to be learned here and VA is the example. It most certainly can happen. |

This has been going on since the last few mayoral administrations. With the last election in Knox county proper a slight tinge of blue appears to be rearing its ugly head as this cancer is spreading across city/county lines. Be vigilant, otherwise we end up like our NE neighbor. |
