| Not sure where you all have been but Maine has been a shithole for at least 15 yrs. Went with my life and son in 2011 and we left Portland after 2 days- very similar to San Francisco in what we saw and why we left. Panhandlers everywhere, mental illness everywhere, people sleeping on the sidewalks, shit on the side walks . Place smelled horrible . No thanks |

Even away from the "larger" population centers, the change was impossible to miss even 15 years ago. Maine is nothing like it was in the '80s and '90s. |
