I would love this to come to fruition, but this seems like wasted attorneys hours. Pritzker Would pull some kind of stunt, legal, or not, to block this from passing under his rule. A shell bill passed at night made Illinois the worst state in the union for firearms. The two lady judges who got $1 million each for their Supreme Court Support of Pritzker and somehow managed to say they weren’t biased shows how deep the corruption runs. And all the anti Trump people want targets to focus on. This would get every anti Trump Karen in the suburbs motivated. We have to play defense in Illinois. I hope I eat crow but come on. | It is my understanding that you can get a short-barreled rifle in Illinois for WWII reenactments, which was not always the case. So, some progress there. Some Federal fish and wildlife agencies are now getting suppressors for their .40 pistols. So, people are getting used to the idea. It is ultimately a matter of safety to protect our ears. Only in the movies do suppressors hide a crime. Pritzker does not care about preventing crime, only getting elected president. If an issue won't advance that, he doesn't care. Also, in this last election Trump only lost Illinois by 8 percent, so the trend is in our favor. I am generally pessimistic, but I am going to stay a while longer. WE cannot give up. |

The SBR law was written under the pretense of reenactors using SBRs during their activities. That is why you have to ALWAYS have a C&R to have an SBR in Illinois; the law was worked through as a justification for the shorter barrel length. The real kicker is there is a OAL minimum: 26” That removes almost every SBR I was interested in. That and more likely than not the vast majority of SBRs in Illinois are registered post 68 so that means the ISP has a list to cross reference against registrations. I’d like to hope the people who registered were SBR holders. |

Like CCW, it will have to come through the courts. A few years back they took a group of politicians down to the ISP range at Pawnee. Shot several firearms with and without suppressors in an effort to convince politicians that Hollywood and real life are different. The response was the same rubbish the said to justify never passing CCW a "blood in the streets" and the "wild west". I guess there is also hope that the AKguy get named director of the ATF. |
