Looks like the main cast iron sewer pipe running under the slab (1964) is full of roots, deteriorating, and/or collapsing. Sleeving was mentioned but may not be possible (pipe may collapse once the roots are cleaned out, or in the process due to the hydrojetting). Looking at having the entire pipe replaced. Not sure if Arizona clay means tunneling under the house would be impossible (or more expensive) so the plumber who found the issue suggested the need to cut and remove the slab above the pipe. This is significant and involves at least three, and maybe four rooms, including the kitchen and a bathroom. I watched some youtube videos on the process, and its super interesting and super horrifying. Anyone have any experience with plumbers in Tucson doing this sort of work? Thanks. |
| I had my main sewer line replaced in December because the neighbors pine tree roots completely destroyed it, couldn't be perma-lined. Checked around, Cummings and Al Coronado were ridiculous, 20 grand plus. I ended up using Dunn Plumbing and was very happy with the price and the quality of their work. I would use them again. Their number is 520 310-0551. They gave me a break for being a veteran also. I've used Expert Plumbing in the past for some inner house stuff and they did good jobs also, maybe give them both a call, hope this helps you. |
