Wise man stay away from 5.45x39mm. Much stupidity around its future supply there is. Especially with its 2 biggest remaining users slinging it at each other in massive quantities right now. Which really truly blows. It's a great round. Was sorely tempted to build a bolt action varmint gun around it. Topic at hand, $700-$800 high side depending on swag (mags, sights, etc). $400-$600 low side, 5.45 is a gamble. |

I sold off a tin of Rusky corrosive 5.45 during the plandemic. I still have another tin and a bunch of loose boxed 5.45. Plus a ton of mags. I briefly owned a Polish Tantal with the original chrome lined barrel bought from a friend. The S&W AR would be a nice gun to own if you're still sitting on a pallet of 5.45. |
I had a S&W 5.45 upper but it had a tight chamber. I switched over to ballistic advantage barrels and had better luck. The weak point to the system is the mags. I got so fed up with the magazine issue I bought a Vepr 74 and a saiga 74. I have 35 tins of 7N6 so I needed something to shoot that ammo in  I think model 1 sales still sells 5.45 bolts and extractors. |

I've wondered why we can't make a decent steel cartridge case anymore. We used too. I may have lost everything, including most all guns & ammo. But I lost that cheating whore as well. One of the best things that ever happened to me. I marries up like a mother fucker the second time around. Took about 12 years, but the ex & I get along fairly well now. Last kid will be grown in about a year & a half. |
