So, a bunch of us (like maybe 12-20) are renting two vrbos airBNB or whatever not far off the 605/Cowan Rd for a week. Any good places we should eat? Steak, Mexican, Chinese/Pho, etc? We're not into Seafood or Fish. Any thing we should see? Any thing or places we should avoid either because it sucks for one reason or another or just a Bad Area/Elements? Mo-CCW looks GTG in Ms . Well have at least 4 Grand kids 1-4yrs old + 4 or more other kids in the range or a bit older. (not my choice). Any kind of petting zoo or places to see lots of Animals. Thats always a hit with the tykes. My Short list of things I may try given the time and chance: Geocaching. I'm a Cacher and try to nab at least 3-4 in every state I visit. Looks like a TON within just a few miles of our stay. There is a ""Train Tastic MS Coast Model Train Museum, maybe 15-20 mins West of us. A Outlet Mall with a Polo Store. Maybe 15 mins NW of our stay. I'm sure it'll be a run fest, run as many places as they can fit into a day. |

The aquarium is kinda neat. Pretty much every restaurant is good. Being on the coast, the vast majority will be seafood oriented but they all will have non-seafood menu items. They range anywhere from dive to fancy pants. Try to take the ferry to Ship Island and make a day out of it. Then you won't have to worry about going to other places because you will be trapped on an island. |

I'm guessing the Ferry ride, the scenery, maybe seeing Dolphins and other marine life is the key? If the weather is decent, I think I could enjoy a decent boat ride and a cocktail or two... |

It's an awesome beach. The beaches on mississippi coast are man made. The coast line is a sound or bay like so the water isn't as nice as other beaches. But ship island is on the actual ocean so it's like Gulf Shores or Florida. |

If it's midsummer when you go, you might check out the Gulf Islands Water Park. There is also a long zip line thing nearby that my grandkids liked. Link Attached File |

In Gulfport, Tony's Pizza, Murky Waters (BBQ) Halfshell or Patio 44 in Biloxi for fancy. Whitecap is real local seafood, but you said you don't like seafood. Water Park is a good day, but sometimes there are a lot of youths there. I haven't been in ten years or so. Always got season tickets when my boy was young. If you like military museums an hour North is Camp Shelby is a good half day for family (full day for me but I read every placard) Frosty Mug is one of my favorite hole in the walls nearby. Trip to Ship Island is nice depending on time of year (only open in summer) History AND a nice beach with a boat ride. Almost like riding a boat on the ocean even though it isn't. It's expensive. Aquarium is nice but expensive. Do you like hiking? Casinos if you're into that. Can't bring kids. Try not to stop along Pass Road in Gulfport. The neighborhood west of Gulfport is rough and along highway 49 north of Pass Road before you get to the mall. Diberville has a better mall now. Meaning open air "mall" |
