My Seiko fell off my bathroom vanity and hit the tile floor. Cracked the crystal. Anyone know of a watch repair place in the midlands?

The two places we have had good luck with are Chapman Jewelers in Lexington, 803 996 5530 and Phelps Jewelers in West Columbia 803 794 1444.

This is timely.
I have my great grandfather's watch I need to have repaired. I might run it by one of these shops. Do you know if they repair mechanical watches? |

I know Phelps did at one time. He was closed for an extended period of time and reopened in the current location. He got an old pocket watch I had running.

Honestly, it’s not that hard to do. If it’s a popular Seiko, you can order a new or upgraded crystal and this press. I’ve done it once with a watch I modded.
 
Only drawback is you can’t pressure test it without the right equipment. YouTube is your friend! |

Thanks. I started researching last night. I can change to an official Seiko Crystal and buy the tools for $75. Can do the mineral crystal for about $55. New hobby for me probably...and maybe even to building my own based on the watch forum here.

Yea, I got caught up in the excitement and built a hard to find SKX035 out of an 006. Found the face and dial ring on eBay. Also swapped better contrasting hands.
