We Need to Look at the Full Picture of What the Trump Administration Has Done for the Second Amendment The second Trump Administration has thus far exceeded all expectations when it comes to its nearly unprecedented defense of the Second Amendment. While Trump’s first term gave us hugely important wins on judicial appointments at SCOTUS and the lower courts, that was just about all we got. This term has been much different. We are still getting good judicial picks, but are also making so much more progress beyond that baseline. This has been the first time any Department of Justice has meaningfully championed the Second Amendment since the days of the Freedmen’s Bureau during Reconstruction. Given that, it makes sense to maintain a list summarizing the Trump Administration’s actions related to gun rights. I’ll do my best to keep this updated, but if you can think of important things I missed, please list them in the comments below. Now if we can just get the Supreme Court to toss AW bans. Trump did what we needed him to do. Get decent justices installed in the Supreme Court. If the CCDL could actually get something done besides begging for money, maybe we can enjoy what other states are enjoying. Their laws being tossed. |

LOL who do you think initially filed and funded the Grant case that SCOTUS consolidated with Viramontes and granted? ALL the 2A groups beg for money in one form or another. Hiring lawyers, filing cases and years spent fighting through a 2A hostile court system be expensive. CT is where it is for a number of reasons, among them: Voters (including a good number of gun owners) Elected politicians Sandy Hook Court system that any case brought goes through before reaching SCOTUS SCOTUS who is glacially slow on rectifying the Second Amendment being treated as a second class right by gun hating states/politicians |
