Planning on visiting Yellowstone and Grand Teton. Was planning on driving but now thinking of checking on flying. 1800 miles to the north entrance. My F150 and wife's Explorer are both 4 wheel dr. Don't know how to drive anything else. Can I get by renting a 2 wheel dr that time of year? Would I be better off paying extra and getting 4x4? Anything anyone has to add that would add to our trip would be appreciated. If I drive I will be leaving south Indiana. |

Never hurts to have 4x4 available. My parents were just up there: plenty of snow and rain. I lent them a bunch of recovery gear, which, thankfully, they didn't need to use. |
