I’m looking to pick up some gong type steel targets. I need heavy steel racks for them too. I’m going to install them in a place that’s very difficult to get into so I don’t want to use wood that will have to be replaced in a year or two. I know the standard response to needing a heavy steel frame is to hit the target, not the frame. True, but when you shoot autos, FRT’s, and have kids shooting, it just doesn’t always go that way Does anyone know of a local place that has targets that will fit this bill? I’ve seen a place at the Asheville gun show a few times but I don’t remember the name of the company and my google-fu skills are weak. |

I realize I am late to the game on this thread, but thought I would offer in case you could use anything other than gongs. I have a Heavy Duty PT Dueling Tree (AR550 Steel) and the smaller Rimfire Dueling Tree (AR500 Steel) by Action Target that I can part with locally. A bit rusty, but a coat of spray paint and a little grease will bring them back to perfect working order. These things are built like tanks. I have enjoyed them tremendously. Since my range is a bit short, 90% of their use has been with handguns. Action Target Dueling Trees |
