So Mrs. M4ger and I are coming up on our 10th anniversary in 5 days. Likely making the drive after Independence Day. We're planning a drive up from KY to see Lake Michigan and probably looking at Grand Haven and/or Holland, MI to visit. AirBNBs will be used. What's the AO like? You can walk the river downtown, climb the stairs at Mount Baldy, or see the Lake Michigan dunes at Oval Beach. As a foodie, I highly recommend Phil's Bar and Grille for lunch. And if you do decide on Saugatuck, set your GPS from downtown for Lake Shore Resort. The resort means nothing, but the only way to get there is a casual roll down Lakeshore Drive in Douglas. We're talking absolutely breathtaking elevated views of Lake Michigan right from the vehicle windows. And then just turn around at the dead-end and enjoy it all over again. Back in Holland, if you make your way out to the State park or Tunnel Park, consider the short drive up to Red Rock Grille for dinner. It's part of a golf course, and bit of a well-kept secret. Otherwise, the best places downtown Holland include; 1) Seventy Six, 2) Butch's Dry Dock, or 3) New Holland Brewery. But I'd also suggest you and the missus celebrate your 10th with a cocktail at Obstacle beforehand. It's the epity of "swanky" (if you've never experienced it) Enjoy your visit! |
