Hello gentlemen, once again in july i will be visiting Utah, on my summer family trip to UT, ID and MN. we will be travelling in RV, from the 1st in Vegas, headed north. I'll fly back home from SLC on the 17th. I plan on leaving Vegas early, and head north towards the Uinta Wasatch. my question is the following. On the 4th, for obvious reasons, i'd like to be , not in the middle of nowhere, but neither in a big city. A small town would be great to be there on the 4th to celebrate this amazing anniversary. My nephew (11) wasalso asking if there was any chance to see small town festivities, like a local rodeo or anything like this... Do you guys have any advice on where to be at that time , lets say in between Vegas, and SLC, to have a nice 4th of July celebration ? I'll keep adding questions in this thread, and i'll be checking regularly for every bit of good advice you may have! Thanks in advance! Shung |

I did about the same in 24, except after grand Canyon we didn’t push to Monument valley but went through Moab and Zion to then drive north towards SLC, via Cedar City btw (where I had lunch). Cool little town. After that we went to Yellowstone and came back through Wyoming and Colorado to fly back from Denver. Cedar City could be a possibility for the 4th, but maybe I could even go for a smaller town. I remember in 04 I found myself totall randomly stopping for a Rodeo in Lusk, WY , a very very small plac, and it was kinda cool. Anyway, keep advice coming, very much appreciated. I think I want to avoid the last bit a highway to SLC from the south because that was boring. At Cedar City I might wanna go east to then oblique north later on. I fly back from SLC later on but wanna loop above Yellowstone and see some Montana and Idaho too. |

The best small town 4th of July I’ve been to is in Huntsville, UT (closest town to Snow Basin ski resort outside of Ogden) at the city park. Day starts with a family 5k, then a parade, all day games and carnival, there’s a live play, food trucks, and then a fire works show that punches way above what a little town typically can do. Problem is that it got too successful- crowds were 20k- plus. They stopped it for a few years because the town staff and volunteers couldn’t keep up. It’s back on now. |

That's the polygamist town that's gone almost mainstream since Warren Jeffs got locked up. I went through Kanab in 2024 and it was indeed nice. Didn’t stop but for gas but that’s an idea. Only thing that would mean crossing through Zion and at this time of the year it’s really packed! |

| Richfield Utah puts on a wonderful fireworks display each year. Its your classic small American town (although growing) with lots of events going on in the main street. |
