Update-

Pittsburg-primanti was good if you like a loaded sandwich. The ambiance of the strip was cool. We did street vendors are and bright him lots of Pittsburgh gear. Carnegie museum was disappointing.

Hershey was Hershey. I thought it had the best crowd of any park we've done. Not a lot of trash people, mostly families and everybody well behaved. That made it worth the visit

Philly- Penns View was awesome, thank you very much! Cool hotel with great staff and good location.

Franklin institute was the best museum we went to edging out Rock & roll hof. They also had the highest priced t shirts of the week at 40 bucks!

Fantastic ice cream and candy store right around the corner.

We did dalesandros, genos and ishkabibbles.

Dalesandros was the best of the 3 by far, ish was so so, Geno was not my cup of tea. IMO, the ones we make at home from fantastic ribeye and good deli provolone are much much better. The dalesandros bread was best bread, they are going to make me improve that for ours.

Best best best stop in the state was shady Maple Amish buffet. Fuck oh mighty that place was great!

All in all PA was ok!

Hilton Penns Landing
201 S Christopher Columbus Blvd, Philadelphia, PA 19106
Stayed there a few years back. Has a parking garage, and walking distance of a lot in Old City.

Can't really give you any ideas for Pittsburgh. Only been there once and hotel was based around a work location.

This may be the best idea. Consider a hotel in the city with parking garage. Anywhere you are likely to go in center city, old city, or waterfront, will still be decent in the evening.

Once you get south of Philly it's not better. PHL airport and Essington hotels is not great because you'll get jet noise and hotel drama. South of that is wasteland

If you're taking the turnpike to get to Pgh, then stay in either Harmarville or Monroville.  Those are two exits off the turnpike and are the closest to Pgh.  I don't uber so I don't know if the cost of uber out ways the cost of driving to the science center

Perfect. Thank you

I'm not real concerned with Uber cost, is vacation, I try to relax and enjoy. I prefer staying in the burbs, then getting to sightsee on the commute when I'm not driving.

Thank you!

Penns View Hotel in Philly is pretty cool.  It's a 'smaller' boutique hotel but really neat and it's in old city close to the major landmarks.  I don't recall if they have a parking garage but I believe so. I've stayed there a few times even though I live just outside of town.

Pat's King of Steaks or Geno's steaks. They're right across the street from each other.

FYI concealed or open carry both require a carry permit in Philly (not that I'd recommend drawing the attention of Philly's Finest to yourself by OC'ing). Outside city limits, you only need a permit for CC. The rest of the state is OC-legal. I don't know the OH-PA reciprocity laws though.

I guess we will do one from each and have a taste test

Ohio resident permit is good in Pennsylvania.

Thank you

Any personal preference? Is it a Ford Chevy thing?

In my opinion they both suck. Just tourist traps.

Head over to Reading terminal market and get yourself a roast pork sandwich from

That's what a coworker said
