@Tigwelder1971 - you better check again. They showed at $399 when I got email notification this afternoon but they're back to $249 now. Coupon code LDN knocks another $20 off, so total is $239 shipped with their $10 FFL fee. Buy them so I don't have to. ![]() Quoted:

Ended up snagging one of the CDNN complete lowers. It's an LE, which is what I wanted. But not crazy about the new font change. Especially on the fire/safe markings. Has anyone else seen this? https://i.imgur.com/WEtzPDU.jpg https://i.imgur.com/9cjQP4b.jpg If anyone has a new, basic 6920 lower they wanna trade for this one, let me know. I'll ship to any FFL that accepts transfers from private people. :P |

Quoted: Is that an Expanse lower? Haven’t been able to find pictures of another like it. Beyond weird. I’d post the link to it, but I dunno if that’s allowed. The pictures they used were all traditional Lowers. I emailed and asked if they were LE prefixes. They replied they were. And to be fair, they weren’t wrong.

Don't like/want it, return and restock fee. I had to near throw a fit to ensure LE prefix, finally the gun manager hooked me up. |
| Brownells bought a ton of them from Colt and wanted to recoup their money quickly, now Colt is refusing to sell lowers again so whatever is on the market is all there is going to be unless their imbecile for a lawyer realizes they aren't in the business of selling cotton candy and allows them to sell guns like they're supposed to |

Colt CS would not confirm/deny.

Brownells was mentioned in the other thread to stop advertising it as a factory assembled lower. Has anyone that bought one from Brownells received one that is engraved and not stamped like the CDNN lowers? |
| I find it hard to believe that the Brownells lowers aren't factory assembled. I, on the other hand, don't find it hard to believe that CDNN's aren't. They have a bit of an alleged history of putting together parts guns. I think I remember several threads about their retro colt offerings being pieced together per Specialized Armament. |

I think they are splitting up expanse and selling the lowers and uppers seperate. Makes sense why have expanse uppers and lowers for sale. Part # on upper cane back to expanse if I remember correctly. He didn’t have a model or part # for the lower. |

Strange:
I just went to the Brownells site and reviewed their Colt M4 lower assemblies. They state as follows: "The Colt AR-15 M4 Complete Lower Receiver is built using the same parts and the same attention to detail as the company's popular line of LE6920 AR-15 rifles." This may suggest a third party or may not. I any event, I was convinced in reading their description and reviewing the product I bought (with CR serial No.) that it is a Colt product with the stated Colt Mfr Part: SP633784. I either bought a true Colt lower or I bought a clone/copy. Now if it was manufactured by Colt Competition and hence not a true Colt, but now it is sold as true Colt, I'd need to question what is going on. Admittedly, I am very confused and feel that Colt should set the story straight. |
|
I questioned Brownells as to my confusion to know who had effectively built the Colt lowers they offer with CR serial numbers (COLT - AR-15 M4 COMPLETE LOWER RECEIVER 5.56MM). This is their answer and I am delighted.
Thank you Brownells! "Colt has verified that these are Colt manufactured and were never produced by Colt competition or any other contractor. Much as many other manufacturers do, serial numbers lots are not indefinite and once that allotted number is maxed out, the serial prefix must be changed." |

I can understanding serial number allotments. But what's the highest LE serial number? Some of the lowers posted recently were in the LE 3xx,xxx range. With the controversy over the CE Expanse lowers, seems it would have been more marketable to use LF, or something other than a 'C'.
But then again, Colt has never been known for marketing acumen. |

I have always questioned Colt's Marketing as not being customer friendly for parts. I just went to their site and it looks like they are setting up a storefront to sell parts! Nice move! |

Good point NightOwl. I'd expect to see a full listing of parts at Colt and still have Brownells (Great Co for me!) and Midway and xxx offering Colt parts. Have you noticed how many parts are not available and discontinued (at B and M). |

My FFL also transferred it as an "other" based on the packaging. I had no qualms with ripping off the stock and RE to put a pistol tube and brace on it. |
