They emailed me after it was sent back to say they replaced the barrel. Still haven't been able to shoot it yet though. Maybe next weekend. |

My new 11.5” G barrel from PA kinda passes the plunk test. More or less… I can drop a S&B .223 77gr HPBT in all the way and it doesn’t fall out when I turn it over, but it falls out if I tap the barrel with my hand. When I drop a Frontier 5.56mm 75gr T2 in, I have to lightly push it the last little bit. It does not fall out freely when turned over; I have to bang it down on the work bench pretty good a few times before it falls out. I used my drill index to gage the gas port; 1/16” (.0625) goes in with light friction and #52 (.0635) kind sort goes in but doesn’t. Gas port is probably ~.063 I installed the barrel anyways. It seems to chamber 5.56 just fine when dropping the bolt release (H2 and Tubbs flatware pushing it) and working the charging handle clears it easily. Screw it… I’m shooting this thing. |

Only put 19 rounds through it as I was zeroing and then finishing off a mag from zeroing another gun but it had no issues which is a huge improvement over the first time I tried shooting it. Hopefully I’ll be able to join the local range next week and get some more time on it. |
