I see you guys posting about fake accounts and low post counts and would like to post that neither I, nor anyone else in my household, have more than this one account. No dupe accounts here. I mostly lurk ... I usually don't have anything of importance to say so I don't... I almost missed getting my number in this month, and my previous numbers were usually duped after I posted so, in my rush, I just posted the FPS rating from a box of Golden Saber .45 rounds on my desk. After I posted I looked for the report and, sure enough, I duped someone. What are the odds that out of 2000 numbers I picked one someone else was already using? In all fairness, I think Mark should pick the first person that chooses a specific number. Dupes should not be allowed. My apologies to agnisco ... if 875 is picked, I hope you end up winning the draw. Thanks for the monthly contests, Mark! |

Unfortunately, due to some asshat, the contest was made available to everyone, quite awhile ago. |

While I can't argue that people show up out of the woodwork, the contest can and does serve a purpose as far as marketing goes. Myself for example became a member of ARFCOM through the LaRue site while I was putting an order together. Once I was a member I happened upon the contest and, having browsed the LaRue catalog for quite a while now, I knew that if they gave ANYTHING away it would be cool...even if it was just a hat.
I can't speak for any of the non-paying members of ARFCOM, but I for one joined as a paying member after I found out about the contest. Why? Because I saw that any forum that has that level of involvement with the community is worth supporting. Yes, I am a new guy here at ARFCOM, but I am also a paying customer at LaRue and here as well. In fact, because of Mark, ARFCOM and you fine fuckers I am now a member of the NRA
