  Don't forget that Lee had Remington/Winchester make his 1895 rifle for the Navy/Marines. Remington couldn't make the rifles for some reason and contracted Winchester out to actually make them if I remember my history.  JPL came up with the detachable box magazine for his rifles back in the 1870s. |

James Paris Lee's other action that the British were experimenting with as the Magazine Lee Metford/Enfield (last name designation rifling type) I brought back a pre 1898 MLE from Afghanistan. This would be the SMLE during WWI/WWII
