the Mattes look far better on film than in person, unlike the antiseptic, soulless binary of CGI the contribution of matte work was initially unknown, was raised to a fine art in the 1950's in Quo Vadis, Ben-Hur, Spartacus and later 2001: ASO Below, Peter Ellenshaw (father of Harrison) work in Spartacus

He said anyone could show up for a weekend fun jump at Bragg. Just show up in fatigues with jump wings... |
