Not sure if I posted this correctly. I also didn't have the measurement software for my computer, but my ballistic AE app on my phone measured it at .186". So do I get my "Outshot The Shootist" Dillo!?!?! 75gr Hornady HPBT with Varget Powder. |

My "I Outshot The Shootist" dillo arrived today in a large box with LT packing tape. Along with the dillo I was surprised to find a very nicely framed letter signed by Mr. LaRue.

Wish I knew the rules. This past weekend I took my first long range training class. Two of the groups I shot with my 7.62 OBR when confirming 100y zero were better than the test target I got. Now I just have to recreate it on the test target as the rules state. Challenge Accepted!

I have a LaRue 16" PredatAR barrel on a build. Of course no targets are supplied with the barrel. I just wanted to show the results with the barrel. http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_2_219/276585_.html&page=1&anc=2920206#i2920206 Eventually I'll get up to Homestead (mainland) to a range that I can shoot some distance at and see what happens. Hey Mark maybe a barrel build thread? Regardless it is one hell of an accurate barrel. |

Are we allowed to submit for each LaRue rifle we own? If so, up next is a 16" tAR 5.56... I put up 4 targets and outshot the shootist 4 times. Attached image was my best group. The average of the 4 groups was 0.651 moa.

Serendipity Strikes Again I'm fortunate to own 2 TOBRs and with Soonerman's 5.56 ammo recommendation was able to outshoot the "Shootist" shortly after the contest began. However try as I might with the 7.62 every time I nail up a LaRue challenge target something goes amiss. " />

I've been working on some Creedmoor loads for distance and prior to packing up this last trip to the pit I launched 3 7.62 Federal Match bullets 438 yards downrange. Once I got back to the target I began grinning from ear to ear. 2.5" at 438 yds is .545 just .009 better than the "shootist"  " />

I've been close in the past,
But today was the day. 
On the non-LaRue test target I was stacking them yesterday like this, but once I sighted in on the copy of the test target I was off (1 MOAish). But today I caught some luck. I'm looking forward to this challenge again once my .260 Rem comes in. Edit: Not sure why the photos don't appear, but the links should work. Edit 2: This was done with the PredatOBR 5.56 16" with the SureFire Warcomp and Leupold VX-R Patrol 3-9x40 on the LT111 QD. All purchased from LaRue. Edit 3: Realized when cleaning the rifle last night that the windage on the scope was not zeroed (you can actually see it in one of pics the Leupold logo). Explains why my shots were left of center all day long. Stupid for not checking that at the range . . . |

Took the .260 out to the range today. Got it on paper at fifty yards and moved out to 100 yards. The wind was from 3 - 4 o'clock at 10 - 15 knots. Scope was a NF ATACR F1 5 x 25. Ammo was Prime Ammo 130 gr.
First group: 
Second group after dialing down a couple mils:

I shot an even tighter group but the scanned target looks like a two round group. I decided not to post that one because unless you see it in person you will think that it was only two rounds. Mark thank you for another fine rifle. You would think that I would be used to the outstanding quality of your rifles by now, but every time I open the case of a new LaRue rifle I am stunned by the craftsmanship. Your MBT trigger and magazines are better than anything else on the market. It might take a young Super Duper Paratrooper pulling the trigger instead of this old pooped out trooper, but I am sure this rifle is capable of putting all the rounds in one ragged hole. Would have been happy to shoot the MOA All Day target but my swag box did not come with any ammo.

First time taking out my 7.62 Predatar 16 inch with my SF 7.62 RC2 and was pleased to see just a little low point of impact shift but same great accuracy. The shootist left some easy room to slip in under, either that or the barrel has broken in a bit. My ballistic app says .44 inch group after subtracted the .308 bullet diameter, I'll take it. Shot in a drizzling Central TX rain 3/13
